This free class is for you if want to:
Each of us has a unique story and voice, but most of us, even “professional writers,” don’t have the tools to access what makes our voice unique; our creative life remains smaller than it needs to be. These are difficult times, but difficult times call for creative resilience and strength. The words we use, the stories we tell, and our creative vision all matter. I’d love to see you in the live class. It's for writers of any level across genres (poets, novelists, memoir writers, even people working in other mediums). Whether you're working on a book project or just feeling you would like to get back into a writing practice, if you want to feel more freedom and confidence with your creative voice, this class will give you a method that isn't taught elsewhere. Come with questions; the class will last roughly 75-90 minutes with time for Q&A at the end! Select the time that works best for you (Find your time zone here) There will be some opportunities only for people who come live, but if you can’t make any of the sessions live, sign up for Thursday’s class to get the recording. If you have friends who might be interested, share this page with them! with smiles, PS: I'm going to be teaching my signature Align Your Story course this summer. Click here to see more and join the waitlist and you'll receive $100 off when the doors open (enrollment opens only once a year). |

Hello Reader My first real love as a writer was for poetry. And today, in honor of the spring, my son's 26th birthday (I started to write poetry seriously when he was born), and poetry itself, I invite you to join me next week for a free Poetry Masterclass. In the class, we look closely at poems by Mary Oliver, Walt Whitman, and Lucille Clifton and explore the ways poetry helps us pay greater attention to language, ourselves, and the world around us. The free class will be available for you...
Dear Reader, It's April; spring's here in Cambridge. The days are beautiful, and yet, I'm also aware of violence and injustice. It can sound easy to say we're all interconnected, but being interconnected isn't easy. In my writing classes, one of the things students struggle with most is how to tell their own stories when their stories...
Dear Reader, I hope you're taking care. For those of you who celebrate Eid, Eid Mubarak. And for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, happy spring equinox. We've tipped into spring and longer days—the first blooms on the trees and the first bulbs are flowering here in New England. I was at a silent retreat last week, and this Saturday, Eric and I spent the day at the ocean, watching the waves crash in and out. In the afternoon, the clouds cleared, and the sun came out. We walked by witch...
